Biography

Don Frank is a professional musician from San Jose, CA with many years of experience. He is drummer/percussionist who has performed with a large number of bands, both live and in the studio. Music has always been a part of Don’s life — from a young age, he would hit the furniture, kick the backs of chairs, and listen to the Beatles on his Close 'n Play turntable. After taking over his brother’s drum set at age five, Don went on to play in his high school's Jazz Big Band, Orchestra, and Marching Band. He formed his first rock band in junior high, and has played with many diverse and talented artists over the years. Some of Don's achievements include:

  • Playing a drum duet with Ed Shaughnessy (of The Tonight Show)
  • Receiving a gold record for studio work on The Doobie Brothers album "Cycles"
  • Playing both live and on recordings with Ronnie Montrose and Marc Bonilla

Don enjoys spending time with his family, as well as teaching, writing, recording, and producing music in his studio. He is best known for his song first, musical drumming approach.
